Dr. Ashtar has recently joined the Oncology team at Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai.
Dr. Ashtar received his Diploma of Human Medicine with Honors from Aleppo University Faculty of Medicine in August 1987.
Dr. Ashtar completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical  Center (UKMC) in 1998, and he was awarded the "Outstanding Resident Performance" of the year 1997.
Dr. Ashtar practiced Internal Medicine for four years, during that time he was awarded as the "Best Physician of the Year 1999 - 2000" at Whitesburg Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation (MCHC).
Dr. Ashtar eventually moved to NIH (The National Institutes of Health /National Cancer Center - NCI) in Bethesda, MD in 2002 and he was involved in Fellowship and Clinical Research in Hematology/Oncology.
Dr. Ashtar became the Chief of the Fellows and he was also awarded several honors during his fellowship including
“The ASCO foundation Merit Award” in 2007 & and the award of “America's top Oncologist” in 2008.
Dr. Ashtar became a Research Investigator at NCI/Bethesda Naval Medical Center and a Co-investigator in several cancer vaccine protocols.
Dr. Ashtar has published twelve different publications until June 2008 and he was a key author and co - author on several ASCO presentations and publications at NIH/NCI.
Dr. Ashtar eventually went to private practice in Pennsylvania in November 2008.
He was the Head of “Dr. Ashtar Hematology & Oncology Professional Association, LLC” in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ashtar later on opened another practice in Northern Virgina/Maryland in July 2013   “ Cancer Professionals of Greater Washington, PLLC ” .

Dr Maher A. Abbas is an internationally known colorectal and gastrointestinal surgeon with 22 years of experience in medicine and surgery. To date he has conducted more than 12,000 operations and procedures. He is the recipient of 29 honor awards including America’s Top Surgeons, America’s most compassionate Doctors, Super Doctors of Southern California, and Los Angeles Magazine Top Doctors.  He is professor of surgery and he is senior examiner of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.  

Dr.  Abbas is on the editorial board of several scientific journals and is associate editor of the Diseases of Colon and Rectum, the official journal of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and has delivered over 300 presentations in the USA and the world.

Dr. Abbas was formerly the regional chief of colorectal surgery in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, the founding chair of the center for minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and director of the National Center for Excellence in Colorectal Surgery.   Dr. Abbas was one of the founders of the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi and he held the first chairmanship of the Digestive Disease Institute.

Dr Abbas is an American doctor from Lebanese origin. He competed as a runner in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.  He is married and has 3 children.

The fellowship of the Royal college of surgeons encompasses the management of benign and malignant surgical conditions. The main area of interest is General and Thoracic Surgery, Surgical Oncology and in particularly Upper and lower GI surgery, hepatobiliary, general thoracic, lung and esophageal surgery utilizing a combination of traditional and minimally invasive surgery including Robotic Surgery.
Main experience in GI surgery and general thoracic surgery have been further refined by undertaking an Upper GI, foregut and thoracic post FRACS training in one of the busiest surgery programs in the USA. At the Harvard Medical School BWH Surgery department, over 3,000 cases are performed each year with extensive experience in pre-operative, operative and post-operative management of Upper GI , foregut, lung cancer and esophago-gastric cases including laprascopic gastroesophageal, thoracoscopic and open lung resections, laparoscopic fundoplications, esophagastrectomies for cancer (including first time lap nissens, redo nissens/ Collis nissens, heller myotomy, giant paraesophageal hernias, diverticulae and acute esophageal operations). Majority of cases are performed utilising minimally invasive techniques. The fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s hospital is based on a didactic mentorship by US leaders in the field of General Thoracic Surgery. The attendings follow a tradition of surgical training gained from surgical pioneers in their fields, including Dr. Pearson in Toronto, Luketich in Pittsburgh, Orringer and others.
The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Fellowship is a DHA and HAAD Tier one qualification and has been established for 80 years as the authoritative body for standards and training as it relates to surgical practice in Australia and New Zealand and aims to train surgeons to the level of competent independently practising specialists. Dr. Mohan Rangaswamy is a highly experienced plastic surgeon with 28 years in plastic surgery. He holds a Consultant license in Dubai Health Authority and is also licensed in Dubai Healthcare City. He practices the art and science of plastic surgery in its comprehensive form, which means that he does both the Reconstructive and Cosmetic aspects as well as Hand Surgery. He is often called upon to solve difficult reconstructive problems in other specialties due to this wide repertoire of knowledge and experience; he a respected speaker and teacher.

He topped the national selections in India at all levels of entry into basic medical graduation, postgraduate training and super-specialization in plastic surgery. He got trained at the most prestigious medical institutes in India and later obtained the fellowship of the Royal College in Glasgow, UK. He has also worked in kidney transplant and general surgery during this period. He received training in microvascular surgery as far back as 1987 and has maintained competence in this.

 

He was on the team of Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital’s reconstructive surgeons between 1987-1990. He participated extensively in Head & Neck cancer reconstruction, breast reconstructions and limb sarcomas. Microvascular reconstructions were used successfully.

 

He was a teacher and surgeon at the SQ University hospital in Oman and former chief of plastic surgery at Mediclinic Welcare hospital in Dubai. He is an innovator of lipoabdominoplasty and minimal scar solutions for gynecomastia in men. His other areas of special interest in cosmetic surgery deal with rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast surgery, body contouring, fat grafting and body lifts after massive weight loss. He offers the full spectrum of procedures for female genital rejuvenation both aesthetic and reconstructive [after bad damage in deliveries]. In the field of reconstructive surgery, he offers solutions for post burn deformities, correction of birth defects, correction of defects due to cancer treatment [breast, head& neck, limbs, skin cancer etc], coverage of exposed bone in orthopedic cases, difficult hernias and nerve problems. He offers specialized solutions for management of difficult wounds. In hand surgery, he may be consulted for Dupuytrens contractures, nerve & tendon problems, deformities, carpal tunnel syndrome and finger-tip problems among others.

Dr. Mohan believes that anything worth doing is worth doing well and thus strives for excellence and safety in all his surgeries. He is known to have one of the lowest complication rates in the area, which is born out of anticipating and preventing trouble before it occurs.
