Mrs.Reshma Devjani (ONC)

Ms. Reshma Devjani has previous experience in India in specialized nutritional care for cancer/oncology patients. She was working with the interdisciplinary and dietetics team at the Cancer Center at Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai, India.
Currently she is a member of the interdisciplinary oncology/cancer team at AZHD to provide expert nutrition counselling services to the patients and their caregivers as an integral part of cancer care and to improve overall nutrition, promote healthy eating habits and enhance overall well-being and quality of life.
Scope of Service
Her scope of service for oncology or cancer patients includes:

  • Nutrition therapy to support conventional cancer treatments to help optimize immune function, improve strength, increase energy, preserve lean body cell mass, rebuild body tissue, decrease risk of infection, and more.
  • Minimize and cope with treatment induced nutrition impact symptoms, specific dietary problems as a result of the cancer and/or its treatment e.g. loss of appetite, sore or dry mouth, taste changes, weight loss, nausea and vomiting, changes in bowel habits, etc.
  • Provide patients and their families or caregivers with practical information on foods to choose, portion sizes and meal patterns to help support them at diagnosis, during and after treatment effects that might lead to weight loss, dehydration, and an overall decrease in energy.
  •  Nutrition counselling post-surgical oncology patients
  •  Nutrition advice for cancer survivors to prevent cancer recurrence

QUALIFICATION:

  • Certified Registered Dietician from Indian Dietetic Association (IDA)
  • Masters in Foods and Nutrition (Major in Dietetics and Therapeutic Nutrition)
  • Certified in Bariatric Nutrition
  • Life member of Indian Dietetic Association
