They occur due to problems in the electrical system of the heart, and can cause symptoms such as:<br \/>\u2022 Palpitations (a feeling that the heart is racing, pounding or fluttering)<br \/>\u2022 Shortness of breath<br \/>\u2022 Chest discomfort or pain<br \/>\u2022 Dizziness or light-headedness<br \/>\u2022 Fainting or blackouts<br \/>\u2022 Fatigue and reduced exercise capacity<br \/><br \/>These conditions may be present from birth or develop later in life due to other illnesses.
