He spent one year performing active research on platelet function in diabetic patients, and published landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals. His review articles on cardiogenic shock gained widespread recognition and received citations in prestigious medical journals such as the Lancet, Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Along his academic journey, Dr. Naji gathered numerous awards. At AUB in Lebanon, in 1992, he received the Hariri Award for Excellence in University Studies. In 1996, he was granted the Naji Sahyoun Award for Excellence in Medical Studies and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

In 2003, Dr. Naji Yazbek joined the St George Hospital University Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon. His clinical career in Lebanon was paralleled by his academic achievements: his students, residents and fellows considered him a role model. From teaching basic concepts of coronary physiology to saving lives through complex interventions, Dr. Naji’s accomplishments received the highest recognition.
Due to turmoil in Lebanon, Dr. Naji moved to the UAE in 2008 and started a cardiology department at one of the major hospitals in Dubai. Throughout these 18 years, he upheld his reputation of excellence and gained recognition as one of the leading Interventional Cardiologists in Dubai. In addition, he proved his leadership skills as a Chief of Medical Staff between 2008 and 2015. His dedication to teaching also continued through his appointment as clinical adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Sharjah.
Dr. Naji Yazbek joined Al Zahra Hospital Dubai in August 2025. He accepts patients along all the spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. His clinic routinely performs electrocardiography, echocardiography, treadmill stress tests and Holter monitoring, using advanced equipment and with highly experienced technicians. Advanced detection is also done through state-of-the-art CT imaging for Calcium Scoring and CT angiography, as well as cardiac MRI.
Dr. Naji is an expert in treating narrow and blocked arteries through minimally invasive techniques. His coronary interventions are done through the wrist (radial access), allowing patients to walk immediately and return home on the same day. He uses highly specialized balloons and stents, with state-of-the-art techniques such as intra-vascular ultrasound IVUS, pressure-wire FFR and others. He also performs peripheral interventions on arteries of the arms, legs and kidneys
